I’ve only seen bits and pieces of High Society, which to me anyway as someone who isn’t at least a full-time movie critic, is a pretty overrated movie. But I kind of like this scene, because Grace plays a somewhat stuck up, spoiled, young woman, who doesn’t like her parents that much, especially her father and they don’t approve of her completely. And she wants to get pass that and decides the way to move pass that, is to marry a pretty boring man who no one close to her is crazy about.

Grace Kelly’s character’s ex-husband (played by Bing Crosby) sees right through that and is telling her, that she could be a special person if she just let her guard down and have feeling for other people’s feelings.

Bing’s character was being sort of a constructive critic towards Grace’s character. A new man Tracy’s life (played by Grace) Mike Connor (played by Frank Sinatra) also sees Tracy’s wall that she has built around herself and tries to knock it down in this movie as well.

YouTube_ Grace Kelly Tribute (2007) - Google Search

Source:Austin Millbarge– The Amazing Grace Kelly appearing in High Society, from 1956. High Society would’ve been an appropriate nickname for Grace as well.

My tribute to Grace Patricia Kelly, one of the most beautiful woman of all time, and great actress.
song: Yanni – Face in the photograph
enjoy:-)”

From Austin Millbarge

Grace Kelly was one of those special women who had the best of all worlds at least physically. One of the most gorgeous, as well as adorable woman whose ever lived to go along with a nice body. And the only problem is that she died way too soon at fifty-three.

The American Princess I believe is the best and most accurate nickname that you can give Amazing Grace, because that is what she was, even if informally. Because that is how she presented herself and how she carried herself.

Amazing Grace was a gorgeous, baby-face woman, with an incredible voice and personality, as well as intelligence and humor to go with those other qualities. And feeling for other people, that she wasn’t the only important person on the planet. And that all people mattered and were important also.

Adlai Stevenson For President

Source:My Footage– Governor Adlai Stevenson, running for President in 1956.

Source:The Daily Journal

“THIS IS ADLAI STEVENSON – 1959 Shots: Stevenson addressing crowds; Stevenson walking through streets, shaking hands, talking to supporters; Interview with Stevenson\\\’s three sons; CU Stevenson addressing camera.”

From My Footage

Adlai Stevenson running on what would later be known as the Great Society in the LBJ Administration. He wanted to expand the safety net in America and perhaps even go further than the Great Society and social insurance and even create America’s first welfare state. Where the Federal Government would become primarily responsible for taking care of the welfare and well-being of the people. Which is what the New-Left of the late 1960s and early 1970s wanted to create in America.

But when Adlai ran for president in 1952 and 56, he was basically running on what would be called the Great Society. Government guaranteed health insurance for the elderly and the poor. And more Welfare for people who were struggling in America.

There wasn’t ever any real shot of Adlai defeating a very popular Army General in Dwight Eisenhower who commanded allied forces in Europe and defeat General Eisenhower for president in 1952. Or much of an opportunity for Adlai to defeat a popular president in Dwight Eisenhower in 1956.

What I believe was the real motivation for Adlai running for president in 1952 was to expand the progressive movement and to give Progressives real issues and policies to run on against then Vice President Richard Nixon in 1960. And in that case Adlai’s 1956 presidential campaign was pretty successful. Because then Senator Jack Kennedy ran on those social insurance and economic issues when he ran for president in 1960 and defeated Vice President Nixon.
